Dr Avery has extensive experience in Geriatric Rehabilitation following strokes, falls, fractures, osteoporosis, & pain management . She has interest in Parkinson’s, Disease, Cerebral Palsy, MS. & the management of chronic conditions including cardiac , respiratory & neuropathic pain in older persons.
Dr Avery completed her Medical Degree at the University of Newcastle. She was honoured to work as Stroke Fellow at the highly regarded John Hunter Hospital Stroke Unit , Newcastle, fueling her passion for EBM rehabilitation & best outcome post stroke . She completed her Rehabilitation registrar training at Rankin Park Centre HNEAH , gaining her Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine . She has post graduate OH&S qualifications
Dr Avery also works as VMO in the public sector in the Wauchope District Hospital Rehabilitation Unit and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medicine at UNSW Port Macquarie Rural Clinical School.
Dr Avery takes joy in striving to improve a patient’s quality of life through rehabilitation medicine.
